Ok fine I realize that it is still winter, but I am ready for some warm weather!!
Hard to believe it’s been a year already
For those keeping track, we’ve been married for a year now. Pretty cool! In fact I think it’s a reason to celebrate!
For our first anniversary we decided to return to the scene of the crime. Seattle! We took the ferry over on Sunday afternoon and spent a wonderful afternoon and evening in Seattle. For dinner we went to Elliot’s Oysterhouse, what a treat! Our hotel was right next to Safeco Field. It was neat to see the big player banners and stadium signs from the window. The next day we had a delicious breakfast and explored a little of the International District before returning home. Clearly one day was too short, but next year we can easily double the fun!

Today is my mom’s birthday. I had to work the closing shift, so a dinner out was … well out. We decided to meet up at our favorite local breakfast spot, the Big Apple Diner for some eggs and good cheer.
The food was great, the company even better and a good time was had by all!

Hello Thursday, nice to meet you!
As part of the shift in work schedules rolling out, I currently do not have Wednesdays off anymore. I have Thursdays off. This is not the best situation. My new days off are Thursdays and every-other weekend. This might not seem like a big deal compared to the old schedule of Wednesdays and every-other weekend, but Christine’s schedule has not changed. The days that she is guaranteed to work are … Thursdays and every weekend. So for the next several weeks at least, we will not have any days off together.
This seems like a very bad deal, and overall I do not care for the schedule. The wise advice is to take each day as it comes, and at least for this one day, this one beautiful Thursday, I was very happy to have today off! I only wish Christine also had the day off to share it with me.
I hope your day (wherever you may be) was as beautiful as this Northwest January day was.
Snow Day!
The weather forecast has been talking about snow all week. Other areas around have had some snow for the past several days, but our little area of Kitsap County has been snow free…until today! Both Christine and I already had the day off today, but when we awoke the world was white and fluffy. What a great way to spend a relaxing day.
